The supply of electricity is 110V AC 60HZ in Taiwan.

   
  What to wear
 

Prepare casual, loosing clothing and comfortable walking shoes in summer in Taiwan. Woolens, sweaters, jackets, and pants are needed because of cold weather in winter. A rain-gear is necessary for unexpected thunderstorms.

Travellers' cheques and foreign currencies can be exchanged at international airport and larger banks and hotels (http://202.39.225.132/jsp/Eng/html/travel_tips/index.jsp). Most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept major international credit cards.

 
   
  Tipping
 

Tipping is optional and not customary in Taiwan. However, tips for restaurant services and hotel porters are much appreciated. A 10% service charge and a 5% value-added Tax are included in room rates and meals.
